Mike Howard is a South Texas native, a 1995 graduate and Distinguished Alumni of Texas A&M-Kingsville and the Chairman and CEO of Howard Energy Partners. He is a philanthropic leader, a builder of high performing teams shaped by continuous development, and a committed advocate for reliable, abundant energy. Mike has been part of the energy industry, the industry that powers every other industry, for over 30 years. He drives efforts to expand energy education and awareness, championing opportunities that build industry literacy, develop future energy leaders, and help people understand how responsible energy development drives prosperity, opportunity, and quality of life.
Mike Howard has been running Howard Energy Partners (HEP) for almost 15 years and has built it into a multifaceted energy company operating in 4 states and Mexico. Prior to starting HEP, Mike held senior management positions in publicly traded midstream energy companies throughout his career. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He serves on the Board of Directors of HEP, Atlas Energy Solutions (NYSE: AESI) and Jonah Energy LLC. Deeply engaged in industry and the South Texas community, he also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Foundation, the Texas Oil and Gas Association, INGAA, the National Petroleum Council, and is active in many other civic organizations including the South Texas Recovery Foundation in Beeville, TX.
Mike lives in San Antonio with his wife and three children where he can often be found coaching his kid’s sports, being a Patrol Leader in Boy Scouts, and spending time outdoors on his ranch in George West.
